The Saugerties Show is another year event that you compete all year long to qualify for. It entails endless horse shows and practice to achieve perfection and synchronization between you and your teammate.

The show grounds have dozens of vendors with equestrian gear, apparel, jewelry and so much more. Spectators have the opportunity to eat at the restaurant or bar & grill on site.

While other meander around to find a spot on the grass to watch the competitions.

On our first day we placed in 2nd in the smaller, jumper arena with a large crowd peering in to watch. I think both of us took a sigh of relief and realized all our hard work had paid off.

The grounds are nicely kept, with jumps newly painted and. fresh flowers surrounding them. With music playing, bars, shops, some of the best photographs and videographers the show grounds has everything you need!

Making it to Saugerties was a goal of ours and our hard work paid off. We made it too Saugerties.

On our second day, we were set to show in the big arena. The big arena sits lower with a stadium of chairs on the hills surrounding it, looking down on the riders in the arena. Although its intimidating, its thrilling at the same time.

With a long course, different striding, spooyk jumps and a lot of competitors, we were determined to place.

Everything was perfect. We pulled it off flawlessly. My boy and I placed in 9th out of around 300 competitors.

Your soul horse. Once in a lifetime you come across a bond between you and your horse that is unlike any other. It could never compare to any other bond you’d ever have with another horse. They know what you’re asking for before you ask and you know what they need before they try to tell you.

It’s the strongest, most sentimental and powerful bond you can have as a rider. If you’re lucky, you’ll have a soul horse. They leave hoof prints on your heart, that never fade away.
