A quick weekend trip to Cape May is always a nice little getaway. We stayed in the Southern Mansion Bed and Breakfast. It was so quaint and charming.

As we pulled in to the historic Southern Mansion, we checked into our suite that had a very vintage 1940s look to it. It was special and unordinary.

The sweet Southern Mansion is only a 5 minute drive into the town of Cape May with the plethora of stores, beaches, restaurants, bars, ice cream stores, souvenir shops and museums to explore.

In West Cape May there is the largest winery on the island of Cape May known as Willow Creek Winery. On the property lays a whopping 50 acres of vineyards, gardens, wine tasting and vineyard tours. While we stayed at their sister property, Southern Mansion, you can stay on the winery or their many cottages on the grounds!

We tasted all different kinds of wine, ranging from reds and rosé to whites and each more delicious than the next.

One of the wines we tasted was “Wilde Cock”. The wine connoisseur informed us that their “Wilde Cock” wine is named after the roosters that live on the farm.

After our wine tastings, we walked around the grounds of the winery to take in the beauty of the vineyards, gardens and animals roaming the property.

The simple, yet gorgeous vineyard was breath taking. It was obvious as to why this hidden gem was a local favorite.

Seeing all the vines and landscape was divine. Almost as divine as their wines. The beautiful scenery with the flowers, gardens, acres of land was something you don’t see everyday.

Back in the town of Cape May, towards the end of the strip laid Congress Hall. As we toured through Congress Hall you could feel it authenticity and patriotism.

The whole town of Cape May emits a historic vibe as if you’re walking through a time of the past but in the most quaint and beautiful way.

Travel Essentials:

A sweater or sweatshirt for the nights it gets a tad chilly.

A tote for walking around and holding your belongings.

Rain coat! Infamous for its sporadic rain sprouts, you’ll want to be prepared.

Simple outfits. Whether it be a sundress, romper or shorts and a shirt you won’t need anything crazy for your trip to Cape May.
